Dear SEE community, After a great success with Sofia SEE3 meeting (way over 200 people in the room), SEE4 RIPE regional meeting is now set for 21st/22nd April 2015 in Belgrade, Serbia. We would like to invite you to attend the meeting (there is no attendance fee) and also to encourage you to submit the speech proposal for our PC to consider them. Apply for the RIPE Atlas data visualisation hackathon

Dear colleagues, we are happy to invite you to the first RIPE Atlas open data hackathon! In short: various groups will come together during the long weekend in Amsterdam, to make new visualisations (or modify existing ones) based on RIPE Atlas data, and to give that SW back to the community. We are inviting: programers, designers, operators, data-lovers, hackers, students... help us spread the word! Comcast is generously offering prizes and some coverage for travel expenses for several people -- to be awarded/selected by a jury. Dear colleagues, We still have places left for the new RIPE NCC training course that will take place on the Sunday before the RIPE 69 Meeting in London this November. This new course will focus on how to obtain, transfer, manage and protect your IP address space. The course is free of charge and is open to anyone interested. The course will cover the most frequently asked questions the RIPE NCC receives about IP address space. Course title: RIPE NCC Presents: IP Address Space Basics How to obtain, transfer, manage and protect your IP addresses Goals: By the end of this course, you will be able to: - Manage your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses according to current RIPE Policies - Understand how to obtain IPv4 addresses through transfers - Protect your address space from hijacking Target audience: Anyone interested in the policies and procedures around address space in the RIPE NCC service region, and companies looking at address space transfers, mergers and acquisitions. No prior knowledge of the topic is necessary. Time: Sunday, 2 November, 10:00–16:00 Outline: - Becoming a RIPE NCC member (why and how) - Obtaining IP addresses (IPv4 and IPv6) - IP address space transfers, mergers and acquisitions - IPv6 basics - Address space hijacking - Resource Certification (RPKI) Cost: Free of charge. SEE 3/RIPE NCC Regional Meeting Report

Dear colleagues, The third South East Europe (SEE 3) RIPE NCC Regional Meeting took place from 14-15 April in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event had an excellent attendance of 229 people, including 135 from Bulgaria. It was also encouraging to see that many attendees from last year's SEE 2 Meeting in Macedonia returned to attend the SEE 3 Meeting. The community in south east Europe has proved to be extremely vibrant and eager to engage with the wider Internet industry. The excellent presentations and lively discussions at SEE 3 were further evidence of this. We would like to thank all who helped to make this such a successful event, particularly meeting co-hosts BIX.BG. RIPE NCC regional meetings are a fantastic way for the organisation to engage with our members and the community, and for those regional communities to let us know what we can do to help them.
