Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC is holding a member lunch in Podgorica, Montenegro, on Friday, 21 February 2020 and we would love to see you there! It's also a great opportunity for you to meet your peers in the Internet industry to discuss issues that affect you all. Anyone from South East Europe can apply to receive funding for their travel and accommodation to SEE 9 in Ljubljana. Take advantage of this opportunity and let your colleagues know. Hi all, Here is a quick update on various events happening in SEE. The third ALNOG is planned for 14 November in Tirana. They have not opened for registration just yet, but if you are interested, subscribe to their mailing list to get the notification: https://www.alnog.al A week later, on 21 November, RSNOG are organising their fifth meeting in hotel "M" in Belgrade. Similar to above, subscribe to their mailing list if interested in getting a reminder when registration opens: https://rsnog.rs The ninth GRNOG is taking place on 6 December in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens. Hi Some of you may remember that at SEEDIG in Ohrid, 2 years ago? :) I talked about Descon, a 2 day community and capacity building multidisciplinary event focused on security of the Internet of Things, robotics, electronics taking place in our region. It is aimed at local and regional participants in South East Europe but it has attracted great participants from all corners of the world. We’re back in 2 week’s time and this year we continue to look at how Internet technology can assist in tackling environmental challenges. Apply for the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund

Hi all, Are you working on or planning a non-commercial project that would benefit the Internet or the RIPE community? Or maybe you know somebody with a great idea, who is lacking to funds to make it true? Through the Community Projects Fund, the RIPE NCC will provide up to EUR 250,000 per year to support projects of value to the operation and resilience of the Internet, with a focus on tools and services benefitting the technical community in the Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. You can apply by submitting a clear project plan and timeline by 1 September at: https://ripe.net/community-projects-fund A couple of things to keep in mind: - Funding may be used to purchase equipment, but this cannot be the sole expenditure - Funding cannot be used for humanitarian aid, donations, or to encourage political reform - Funding cannot be used to provide scholarships or cover tuition fees - Funding cannot be used to support any form of commercial activity If you want some inspiration, check out the projects funded in the past (but don't let that limit you!): https://www.ripe.net/support/cpf/funding-recipients-2018 https://www.ripe.net/support/cpf/funding-recipients-2017 Anybody within RIPE NCC service region can apply, so feel free to spread this call to anyone you think might find it useful.
