Dear all, I'm happy to share the news I got from Emir Beganovic, about the BHIX (Bosnia and Herzegovina IXP) opening soon! Regards, Vesna This is what Emir Beganovic, founder of BHIX initiative, let me know: > I am glad that it is finally done after 8 years of me as a student > speaking about the idea, and then it getting traction now. In the end, as it goes, all really positive things that occurred in a a relatively short timespan: - IGF (Internet Governance Forum) meeting was held in December last year, mentioning importance of IXP (http://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/index.php?q=filedepot_download/3568…) - a really nice Minister from the Ministry of Communications & Transport understands the importance of IXP - NIC in Bosnia and Herzegovina gets selected as neutral point - three biggest providers gather together, as they have ever-growing traffic, and IXP makes sense for them - NIC managed to sign a founding Memorandum with three ISPs - 4G is finally coming to the country this year after so many unreasonable delays and law changes! Name is BHNIX, website will be available at bhnix.ba, nothing there yet except a default placeholder, but it should be a main page for all the news and statistics in future. This is a reminder that they are closing registrations for the event tomorrow. You can expect sessions on cybersecurity, trust in digital technologies, technical developments (NOGs, IXPs, v4), 5G, challenges of online content, the future of work and more. SINOG 6.0 meeting in Slovenia

Dear SEE community, Go6 Institute and the SINOG Program Committee in cooperation with Arnes and LTFE is organizing an annual meeting of network experts and the Internet community - SINOG 6.0. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Technology Park Ljubljana (Technology park 19, Ljubljana, Building B) starting at 9 am. There will be lectures by domestic and foreign experts on general networking topics, such as administration and configuration of network infrastructure and services, network and service automation, secure internet architecture, secure peering ...
