Dear all, I'm happy to share the news I got from Emir Beganovic, about the BHIX (Bosnia and Herzegovina IXP) opening soon! Regards, Vesna This is what Emir Beganovic, founder of BHIX initiative, let me know: > I am glad that it is finally done after 8 years of me as a student > speaking about the idea, and then it getting traction now. In the end, as it goes, all really positive things that occurred in a a relatively short timespan: - IGF (Internet Governance Forum) meeting was held in December last year, mentioning importance of IXP (http://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/index.php?q=filedepot_download/3568…) - a really nice Minister from the Ministry of Communications & Transport understands the importance of IXP - NIC in Bosnia and Herzegovina gets selected as neutral point - three biggest providers gather together, as they have ever-growing traffic, and IXP makes sense for them - NIC managed to sign a founding Memorandum with three ISPs - 4G is finally coming to the country this year after so many unreasonable delays and law changes! Name is BHNIX, website will be available at bhnix.ba, nothing there yet except a default placeholder, but it should be a main page for all the news and statistics in future. Dear all, SEEDIG, which is the regional Internet governance initiative for SEE, has launched their yearly survey. It is intended to capture the perception of the SEE community on aspects related to the impact of advanced technologies – such as artificial intelligence and robotics – on the world of work. It only takes 5 minutes to fill.
