Achilleas, First off, thank you for all your work for the WG, and the community! As you suggest, I think this neatly solves the "conundrum" here as we have two great people who are putting their hands up to volunteer. If the WG agrees I would suggest that maybe both of them could be onboarded together for handover and then by the end of the meeting in Sofia the WG would have the expected three co-chairs again? Dear group, As there is eagerness for the availability of a second co-Chair position, I would like to share with you my intention to step down at the next meeting, so hopefully the process could cover that of a second co-Chair. I wanted to announce my intention to step down being physical present in a meeting, but health issues prevented me from attending the last two meetings. I thus announce it now taking advantage of the group dynamics for the selection of new co-Chairs. I welcome the excellent candidacies and I would like to thank my co-Chairs Desiree and Julf for their support throughout these years and especially during the last year that was difficult for me, and of course thank the group for these ten years spent together! I am looking forward to seeing you in Sofia ! Best regards and thank you ! We have received two expressions of interest for co-chair by the deadline, Peter Koch and Bastiaan Goslings. I hereby call for discussion
I'm very happy to see such strong candidates! Were two positions available I would voice warm support for both. However, considering that would not actually help you as chairs, I would suggest you choose Bastiaan. Peter has extensive experience serving as a RIPE WG chair; in the spirit of growing the community I feel it would be better to provide Bastiaan the opportunity to serve in that role.
kind regards, Maarten
