Dear colleagues Please note that the European Commission is setting up an informal "Expert Group for a Technology Roadmap on Encryption". The Commission is looking for technical profiles coming from either the public or private sectors with expertise in cyber security, encryption and decryption, crime investigation, forensics, telecoms, big data and AI, data protection, etc. This is an important one, as the group will advise the Commission on the implementation of current legislation but also in the preparation of new legislative and policy initiatives. Dear colleagues and friends, Like many of you, the RIPE NCC team is heading to the 2025 Internet Governance Forum (IGF) next week, which will take place in Lillestrøm, Norway, from June 23 to 27. This IGF is particularly significant, taking place ahead of the twenty-year review of the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS+20). Under the IGF’s theme of *Building Digital Governance Together, *the RIPE NCC is to take part in and support a wide range of sessions and workshops that reflect our commitment to open, resilient, and inclusive digital governance. DNA Consultation & EU International Digital Policy Strategy

Colleagues Today, the European Commission opened a Call for Evidence inviting stakeholders to share their input ahead of the Digital Network Act (DNA) legislative initiative -- for which a proposal is expected in Q4 2025. The deadline for this call is 11 July 2025. https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation/have-your-say/initiatives/1… In addition, yesterday the European Commission and EU's High Representative published a Joint Communication on an International Digital Strategy for the EU: https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/library/joint-communication-intern… Among other things, the Strategy reaffirms the EU's support to the multistakeholder approach to Internet governance by stating the following: *"The EU will continue to proactively defend the general availability and integrity of the Internet as a global, interoperable network of networks, reflecting the importance of the multistakeholder model of internet governance, for example in the upcoming editions of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and World Summit on the Information Society 20-year review (WSIS+20) negotiations. Open consultation IGF DC IS3C on Post Quantum Cryptography

You are invited to comment on the draft version of a report that will be presented at the XXth Internet Governance Forum in Lillestrøm, Norway in a launch workshop on Monday 23 June at 09.00-hour CEST. The document is open for comments until Wednesday 11 June 23.59 UTC. In this draft report the United Nations’ Internet Governance Forum Dynamic Coalition Internet Standards, Security and Safety (IS3C) presents the outcomes and recommendations of its research conducted in close cooperation with the French internet registry Association Française pour le Nommage Internet en Coopération (Afnic). The draft report addresses the critical intersection of emerging threats around Internet of Things (IoT) security and post-quantum cryptography (PQC).
