Dear all, We are pleased to invite you to the 'RIPE NCC Open House: 2024 Community Projects Fund Recipients'. This event will take place on Thursday, 6 February from 15:00 to 16:30 CET and will provide a detailed look at the achievements, challenges, and future goals of the projects supported by the Community Projects Fund (CPF) 2024. Each project team will deliver a presentation, followed by a Q&A session where you can engage directly with the recipients to learn more about their work. Close to 300 responses were received from the different Internet communities associated with each Regional Internet Registry (RIR). The breakdown of responses by region is as follows: APNIC (Asia Pacific): 154 (51.7%) AFRINIC (Africa): 55 (18.5%) RIPE NCC (Europe, Middle East and parts of Central Asia): 36 (12.1%) ARIN (North America and the Caribbeans): 32 (10/7%) LACNIC (Latin America and the Caribbean): 20 (6.7%) Not Applicable: 1 (0.3%) The questionnaire was open from 8 October to 6 December 2024. It allowed participants to share their opinions, rate each principle, and provide additional comments. In the coming weeks, the ASO AC / NRO NC will begin qualitative analysis of the responses, which will be shared with the Internet community. This process focuses on reviewing and updating the fundamental principles of ICP-2, a key document that defines the criteria for recognizing and evaluating RIRs. Updating these principles strengthens transparency, governance, and the operations of the RIRs, reaffirming their accountability to the global Internet community. We would like to thank everyone who participated and provided feedback during this critical process. Your contributions are essential to ensuring that these principles reflect the needs and expectations of our community. Matthias registered for several online RIPE meetings but did not check in for them except for RIPE 89; thanks to Ulka Athale of the meeting secretariat for double-checking this. The procedure RFC3797 section 5.1 suggests keeping the list of volunteers immutable and skipping the selected person in this case . Also, no more than two of these people have the same affiliation. Thus 15 out of 16 selected volunteers meet the criteria for serving on the NomCom. RIPE 90 Lisbon Hotel Booking Conditions

Hi, Just so you are all aware: The venue hotel for RIPE90, Epic SANA Lisboa, requires FULL payment of your entire stay once you book it. I am disappointed that RIPE engages with properties that enforce these requirements. A one-night deposit or just holding your credit card would be a lot more "normal," in fact I am rather surprised this doesn't violate EU law, but hey, I don't live in the EU. Given the limited number of rooms available at the venue hotel, I am sure I am not the only one wanting to book early, but paying 6 months in advance does seem rather extreme IMO.
