Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC Executive Board held its 97th meeting on 11 December 2014. The draft minutes of this meeting are now available: https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/ncc/executive-board/minutes/2014/minutes-… The Executive Board publishes the minutes of its meetings so that the workings of the Board and the decisions it makes are transparent for the membership that it represents. The following is a summary of the main items from the meeting. Further details are available in the minutes: - The Board approved several documents: the RIPE NCC Data Protection Report, the RIPE Database Acceptable Use Policy, the IPv4 Transfer Listing Service Terms and Conditions, and the updated Closure Procedure. - The Board agreed to publish its opinion regarding the RIPE NCC Charging Scheme model for 2016 on the RIPE NCC Members Discuss mailing list in order to provide an opportunity for discussion prior to the GM in May 2015. - The Board resolved that members sending notice of termination in October, November or December can have their Standard Service Agreement (SSA) terminated before the end of the year and the annual contribution for the following year will not be due. RIPE NCC Management was asked to implement this decision. - The Board approved the updated RIPE Atlas Terms and Conditions for final publication. - The Board discussed the “Working for the Good of the Internet” initiative, including ideas to further develop RACI and encourage entries from the MENOG community. The Board agreed to support the CrypTech project with an EUR 50,000 donation in 2015. - The Executive Board reviewed the GM and agreed that all future GMs will be transcribed to improve transparency and participation. - The RIPE NCC Executive Board approved the Draft RIPE NCC Activity Plan and Budget 2015. [news] New management interface for Resource Certification (RPKI)

Dear colleagues, Today, we are proud to launch the new management interface for Resource Certification (RPKI): https://certification.ripe.net/ (LIR Portal log-in required) This release marks the third major overhaul of the system since its launch in 2011. All of the user experiences and feedback we received from you since the initial launch have helped shape this new interface. While the previous interface focused on helping new users get started with the system, the new interface incorporates functionality to help existing users solve problems using sensible defaults and best practices. We also managed to simplify the interface even further, reducing it from three pages to one in a fresh new look. You can watch a quick tour of the new interface here: http://youtu.be/gLwHp12wOGw I would like to stress that this release is not the conclusion of our work to improve the RPKI interface. We made a conscious decision to not implement every possible feature but to use this as a foundation to expand the functionality based on your needs and input. For example, a requested feature we would like to incorporate is the ability for users to keep their RIPE Database ROUTE objects synchronised with their ROAs, thereby providing a single location for easy routing management and monitoring. We are eager to hear your feedback on the new interface. User input is vital as we continue to simplify resource management and improve the experience for LIR Portal users. Dear colleagues, A reminder that today is the last day for commenting on the first draft of the Internet numbers community’s IANA stewardship proposal. [news] IANA Stewardship: Give Feedback on the Draft Proposal From the RIR Communities

Dear colleagues, The Consolidated RIR IANA Stewardship Proposal (CRISP) team has published the first draft of an Internet numbers community proposal for the future of the IANA stewardship. The draft is available here: https://www.nro.net/wp-content/uploads/CRISP-IANA-PROPOSAL-First-Draft1.pdf This document represents the first effort to bring together the outcomes of IANA stewardship discussions in the five RIR communities. It aligns closely with the principles agreed by the RIPE community: - It proposes a new contractual arrangement between the RIRs and ICANN for ICANN’s continuing management of the IANA functions - It does not seek to change any of the existing global or regional policy development structures - It provides for review of the IANA operator’s performance and compliance with contractual obligations The draft also proposes forming a community-based Review Committee that would produce an annual, non-binding report on the performance of the IANA operator. This concept evolved from the Multistakeholder Oversight Numbers Council (MONC) that was originally proposed by the LACNIC community. Community feedback is being sought on this draft proposal, with a deadline of Monday, 5 January 2015. Feedback can be sent to the global NRO IANA Transfer mailing list, <ianaxfer(a)nro.net>, or can be sent to the appropriate regional mailing lists. The RIPE CRISP representatives will be closely following discussions on the RIPE Cooperation Working Group mailing list, as well as the global discussion. [news] RIPE NCC Activity Plan and Budget 2015 Published

Dear colleagues, We are pleased to announce that the RIPE NCC's Activity Plan and Budget 2015 is now available. This definitive document has been approved by the RIPE NCC Executive Board with input from the RIPE community. It outlines the work we will undertake in the coming year and the associated costs for each activity. The document is available at: https://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-630 Changes have been made since the draft Activity Plan was introduced in September, prior to the last RIPE NCC General Meeting. In order to make members aware of all updates, a new appendix has been added to the document, outlining the changes introduced. These changes include the following updates: - The usage statistics provided for each activity have been updated with more current information. - Minor editorial changes have been made to the text. - The income from new LIRs has increased as a result of increased membership growth. - The Latest Estimate (LE) column in the budget for the 2014 financial year has been updated with the current and, therefore, more accurate information. The Activity Plan and Budget 2015 was discussed at the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) on 5 November 2014.
