Dear RIPE NCC member, In compliance with the RIPE NCC Articles of Association, the RIPE NCC is calling for nominations to the RIPE NCC Executive Board. The nomination period is open until 15 April 2009. The vacant seat is for a three-year term and is to fill the place currently held by Dmitry Burkov, whose term expires in May 2009. Voting for the appointment of the RIPE NCC Executive Board member will take place at the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM). The GM will be held on Wednesday, 6 May 2009 from 16:00-19:00, adjacent to the RIPE 58 Meeting, which takes place from 4-8 May 2009 at the Krasnapolsky Hotel Amsterdam, the Netherlands. You must be registered for the GM if you wish to attend and vote in the Executive Board election. You can register online for the GM at: https://lirportal.ripe.net/lirportal/meeting/registration-general/meeting.h… If you would like to vote but cannot attend the GM, you can be represented by a third party who is not an authorised employee or director. If so, please fill out the proxy form and send it to us by 22 April 2009. Any proxy sent to us after this date will not be valid. You must be a RIPE NCC member and a registered LIR contact to support a nomination. Best regards, Axel Pawlik Managing Director RIPE NCC Excerpts from the RIPE NCC Articles of Association -------------------------------------------------------------------- Article [8.2] The Executive Board of the Association shall consist of at least three and at most five natural persons. They shall be members of the Board in a personal capacity and do not have to be Members of the Association. Employees of the Association cannot be appointed members of the Executive Board. Article [9.1] The members of the Executive Board shall be appointed by the General Meeting from a list of nominees to be drawn up by the Members. A nomination for the appointment of a member of the Executive Board shall need the written support of at least five Members. If three weeks before the General Meeting the number of candidates nominated for appointment as referred to above does not exceed the number of vacancies, the Executive Board shall have to nominate one or more candidates for appointment so that the total number of proposed candidates shall exceed the number of Executive Board members to be appointed by the General Meeting. Dear RIPE NCC member, The RIPE NCC Executive Board reminds you that the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) will be held on Wednesday, 6 May 2009 from 16:00-19:00. It will be held adjacent to the RIPE 58 Meeting, which takes place from 4-8 May 2009 at the Krasnapolsky Hotel in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The GM consists of two parts: * The RIPE NCC Services Working Group session begins at 16:00 and includes the presentation of the Report from the RIPE NCC. This part of the GM is open to everyone. * The second part of the GM follows immediately after the RIPE NCC Services WG session and is only open to RIPE NCC members who have registered for the GM. This part of the meeting is the forum where RIPE NCC members can discuss the operations and activities of the RIPE NCC and exercise their voting rights. As a member, you can attend both the RIPE NCC Services Working Group session and the members-only section of the GM without being registered for RIPE 58. In the event that your organisation is to be represented by a director or an authorised employee, the registration form should state the name(s) of the employee(s) or director(s). If your organisation is to be represented by a third party, not being an authorised employee or director, please fill out the proxy form and send it to us by 22 April 2009. GM attendees who have not registered for the RIPE Meeting are welcome to participate in this working group session. This takes place on Wednesday, 6 May 2009 from 16:00-17:30, immediately before the members-only section of the GM. The report from the RIPE NCC presentation will not be repeated in the members-only section of the GM. Voting and Resolutions ------------------------------- Candidate members are welcome to attend the GM but are not permitted to vote according to article 16.7 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. Full members who are not able to attend the GM but still want to vote can do so by means of proxy voting as per article 16. Please also note that the GM can only pass resolutions that have been submitted and published according to article 15 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association.
