Dear RIPE NCC Member, This is a final reminder for three RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) deadlines that take place at 23:59 UTC on Wednesday, 20 April 2011. 1. Online Registration ----------------------- You can register online to attend the General Meeting (GM) at: https://www.ripe.net/gm-may2011/registration You will also be able to register to attend the GM on the day of the meeting. If you will attend the GM, we ask that you register online, if possible, to speed up the check-in process on the day of the meeting. 2. Proxy Forms -------------- If you are unable to attend the GM and you wish to be represented by a third party who is not a registered contact person for your LIR, please fill in the proxy form and send it to the RIPE NCC by 23:59 UTC on 20 April 2011. Forms sent after this deadline will not be accepted. Registration for Electronic Voting -------------------------------------- The registration period for electronic voting closes at 23:59 UTC on 20 April 2011. You must also send a copy of your identification (for example, passport or driving license) by 23:59 UTC on 20 April 2011. If you sent your identification for the May 2010 GM, you only need to email <agm(a)ripe.net> to let us know. If you wish to attend the GM and vote electronically, you must also complete the electronic voting registration process. Otherwise, you will vote by paper ballot on the day of the meeting. [ncc-announce] APNIC Announces its IPv4 Address Pool Reaches Final /8

[Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear Colleagues, Today, Friday 15 April 2011, APNIC, the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for the Asia Pacific region, announced that it has distributed the final IPv4 address space from its reserves of IPv4. This means that APNIC is now supplying IPv4 address space to its members from the last /8 it holds according to the guidelines in section 9.10 in "Policies for IPv4 address space management in the Asia Pacific region": http://www.apnic.net/policy/add-manage-policy This event does not affect the RIPE NCC's reserves of IPv4 address space and we will continue to distribute these resources to our members on the basis of need until we reach the last /8. According to RIPE Document ripe-509, section 5.6, once the RIPE NCC reaches the last /8 of IPv4 address space, each Local Internet Registry (LIR) can receive one /22 (1024 IPv4 addresses) upon application for IPv4 resources. In order to obtain this /22 allocation, the LIR must already have an IPv6 allocation and have a demonstrated need for address space. IPv6 - Act Now --------------- The RIPE NCC cannot predict how long its own supply of IPv4 address space will last and has worked for several years to inform all stakeholders of the urgent need to deploy IPv6. It is now imperative that all stakeholders deploy IPv6 on their networks to ensure the continuity of their online operations and the long-term growth of the Internet. The deadline for nominations has now passed. The Report from the RIPE NCC presentation will not be repeated in the members-only section of the GM. Dear RIPE NCC member, The RIPE NCC is making a last call for nominations to the RIPE NCC Executive Board. The vacant seats are for two three-year terms and are to fill the places currently held by Fahad AlShirawi and Andreas Wittkemper, whose terms expire in May 2011. Voting for the appointment of the RIPE NCC Executive Board members will take place at the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM). The GM will be held on Wednesday, 4 May 2011 from 16:00-20:00 (UTC), adjacent to the RIPE 62 Meeting, which takes place from 2-6 May 2011 at the NL Krasnapolsky Hotel, Amsterdam. You must be registered for the GM if you wish to attend and vote in the Executive Board election. If you would like to vote but cannot attend the GM, there are two options that will allow you to vote in the Executive Board elections: Electronic Voting All RIPE NCC members who are registered contacts were emailed invitations on 4 April 2011 to register to vote electronically at the GM. If you wish to vote electronically, you must register to do so by 23:59 (UTC) on 20 April 2011. Dear Colleagues, At the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) in Amsterdam on 4 May 2010, electronic voting in the elections for the RIPE NCC Executive Board seats will be facilitated. Those attending the GM on site can vote either electronically or by using the traditional paper ballot method. The RIPE NCC uses BigPulse, a third party that specialises in web-based voting solutions, to conduct the poll. Today, 4 April 2011, you will receive an email from the RIPE NCC inviting you to register for electronic voting with the BigPulse system. You should follow the instructions in the invitation email if you wish to register for electronic voting. The deadline to register for electronic voting is 20 April 2011. Those attending the GM who wish to vote electronically must also register by 20 April. It will not be possible to register to vote electronically on the day of the GM. Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC has published a Registration Services Procedure to help guide our members through the process of submitting an IPv4 address space request. The document can be found at: http://www.ripe.net/lir-services/resource-management/contact/registration-p… The aim is to inform LIRs about what is expected from them during an evaluation and what kind of information the IP Resource Analyst (IPRA) is looking for. This document covers the most common types of requests that reflect the business models and technology deployments in the RIPE NCC service region.
