Hi All, as you now there is a huge russian military invasion in Ukraine. The communications, especially Internet access, is one of the most important things during this time. Unfortunately, almost all ISPs facing with a financial impact of war because of non-payment crisis. A thousand of Euros is a huge money now even for big companies. I think it is a good idea to support Ukrainian ISPs and postpone payments for LIR for them until the end of the war. Please, do support of this proposal. Thank you all!

Annual contribution payment options

Dear colleges, I would like to discuss the possibility to pay up RIPE NCC bills (annual contribution, to be more specific) in other currencies, than EURO. I can assume, as per the latest actions of the currency regulator - Central Bank of Russia, there is a chance that outgoing payments in EURO will be either impossible, or will be performed with double conversion with high commission at each step for Russian LIR holders. This will double the expense, of Russian LIRs. Not to mention, that payments made by sponsoring LIR significantly exceed regular contribution for an obvious reason. Therefore, I suggest the following measures to be discussed. 1. Break payments into quarters for Russian LIRs, and yet perhaps, we will overcome the limits set by central bank until Sept 9, 2021 2. Make it possible for the annual contribution to be made USD, etc. by prevailing cross-rate. 3. Evaluate the possibility to accept cryptocurrency (ETH, BTC, and etc). This post is totally about financial problems to be discussed, and therefore I kindly ask other members to avoid any political statements in this thread. -- ------ Alexey S. A request to terminate ENOG

Peace, (which is my usual greeting message, always was, and will ever be, — because the only thing I've always valued the most is peace) As the Programme Committee Chair of the Eurasian Network Operators Group (ENOG), I, hereby, with all due respect, request that the RIPE Executive Board formally dissolve ENOG and cancel all the potential future meetings indefinitely. Rationale: ENOG was founded in 2011 per the decision of the RIPE Executive Board, and it was assumed to be incorporating Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian, Armenian, Azerbaijanian, and many other regional communities in the hope of building a better shared Internet space among the communities. In view of the recent events (if not even the prior events), the said "ENOG community" does not exist anymore, and in no way it could be clear to the Programme Committee how to arrange a programme for all the distinct and divided communities colloqually recognized as ENOG at the time. Technically, under normal circumstances, a request like this should've gone through a voting process in the PC; however, we currently have several PC members under ongoing _missile attacks_, and I therefore don't believe it is sane to arrange any vote in the PC. Additionally, at the moment, being a Russian citizen, I don't believe I should assume there's a consensus in the entire RIPE Service Region to still invest trust in me, without further due diligence, to hold any official community position in the RIPE community; therefore, I hereby step down as the PC Chair. It's now up to the members of the RIPE NCC Executive Board to decide on future actions, and I urge the RIPE NCC Executive Board to act. It is entirely up to the RIPE NCC Executive Board to consider any future alignments to replace ENOG. Stay safe. -- Töma

Your opinion about Temporary Assignment request

Dear members, May you find the time to tell your opinion about situation with "Temporary Internet Number Assignment Policies" (https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-587) We've found that RIPE Team can reply you in this manner "/at this moment we have not received //*sufficient evidence*//in order to see that the request for a temporary assignment is justified/"/./ If you ask about examples of "sufficient evidence" you may get the answer like this "/I am afraid that we are not able to give any examples. Temporary assignments are provided on a case-by-case basis and there is not a 'standard template' for this./" It means that RIPE able selectively accept requests for the temporary assignments and not every LIR has the same capabilities. Dear Felipe, while we wait for you to crop up a roadmap, I am still waiting for the statistics I asked from Marco weeks ago. Marco, I’d like to see real numbers and not just .. this Q we handled x% more tickets than last Q. Usually when statistics are presented this way, without backing numbers, they express a story you want us to see and not the whole picture. So, while Felipe works on the roadmap, please send us the statistics that you already have about number of tickets handled daily, number of FTEs working on those tickets daily and make sure we receive these numbers for at least since you stopped showing this information transparently (circa 2015). I hope you can provide these numbers swiftly and it won’t take weeks to provide them but rather days (you’ve been working on these stats/numbers since my initial e-mail requesting them, right?) Also, you avoid to respond to one very important question: how many working days in this year have you respected the agreed SLA and how many working days you failed to respect it. I am sure you already have this number and can provide it _today_. Dear Marco, Our company is a new member, but we also faced all these ticket processing issues. During August our requests were processed within the usual 2-3 business days, but then something incomprehensible happened. I'm glad that the other members are also worried, but it seems strange to me that, the RIPE NCC management has not taken any adequate measures over the past months, and that it does not process members' requests in chronological order, for example, as we see in the previous message: > See ticket #398137, for example. Ticket opened Aug 26 at 4AM, <...> resolved only next Monday? And we sent the documents to our ticket #396762 on Aug 25 and it's still in processing for these 2 weeks without ANY response since Aug 27. I have also tried to check the status over the phone and all the staff was reported to be so busy to reply. How come that the old good 1 day SLA has been discontinued and the RIPE NCC can now simply ignore their members for weeks? Why ticket #398137 that was submitted by Elvis later was processed earlier and our ticket is still stored with an unknown status? What is the current SLA and who is responsible for it? However, having public roadmaps should help to inform discussions about what we focus on and where trade-offs need to be made. Registry Services Ticket Response Time

Dear colleagues, We would like to give you an update on the ticket wait times in Registry Services, after discussions at RIPE 82 [1] and on the mailing list [2]. We have been addressing the issues causing delays. As the number of incoming requests continue to exceed previous years, we have taken on additional staff to help with the workload. We are also automating some of our due diligence processes which are currently time consuming. You should start to see improvements in our response times towards the end of this year once our new colleagues are trained and our automation is ready. In the meantime, you may experience slower response times. In other words, we will be slower before we can get up to speed properly, but we think this will be worth it over the long term. We also know from experience that we receive far more requests towards the end of the year which results in a bottleneck. We will shift resources to counter this, but we would also appreciate it if you could get some of these requests in earlier. Hi, I am not sure if this or ncc-services-wg is the best place for this but I have now 2 times recently gotten this reply from the NCC for not being able to reply to my ticket within 24h. > Due to a very high workload, we were unable to process your request at this time and will process it the following business day. I really don't get the point of doing this, there is an auto reply confirming you have received my email so if I don't get a reply within 24h I assume that you had too many tickets or it is a holiday or something. I mainly also wanted to ask if others are also receiving this? -Cynthia
