Dear All, I am writing to formally express my interest in the Co-Chair position of the IoT Working Group. I am a Principal IoT Engineer at Digital Catapult, where I lead the IoT team, and have been an active member of the BSI's IoT/1 committee since 2021. Together, these roles have given me a strong foundation in both the technical and standards dimensions of IoT — experience I would bring directly to this position. Over the last 20+ years, my work was focused at the intersection of embedded systems, IoT, cyber-physical systems, with a focus on IoT and OT cybersecurity in the last years. I have expertise across in R&D and IoT solutions development leading the design, build and deployment of end-to-end IoT systems in the wild and urban environments, across different industries, from energy and gas to manufacturing and defence. In addition, I’ve been a co-founder of the IoT-CPSBench academic initiative, contributing to defining methodologies for testing and benchmarking IoT solutions. I have led the IoT Foresight and Experimentation project at Digital Catapult, benchmarking IoT devices and localisation solvers, and digital proximity solutions during Covid-19, and the Connected Ecosystem meetup event driving the conversations for the London IoT ecosystem, sharing learnings from member community, bringing together the most relevant and leading-edge expertise, know-how, domain knowledge, creating an environment for the discussions to happen and companies to showcase solutions. In addition to my professional role, I serve on industry forums and scientific committees, and technology-focused accelerators. Added Values as Co-Chair I believe I bring a unique profile that combines: - deep academic and industrial expertise in IoT across the whole stack - operational and testing insights through tool development and collaboration with academia and industry - strong connection within the IoT ecosystem and standardisation - experience with public engagement, charring panels with industry and academic partners, creating awareness on IoT and OT cybersecurity vulnerabilities, solutions and best practices Vision as Co-Chair As Co-Chair, I would like to: - strengthen the dialog between industry, academia, startups and SMEs and policy makers - support initiatives around IoT security evaluation and benchmarking, methodologies, and best practices - foster new contributions from diverse backgrounds and geographical areas - ensure continuity with the WG’s past work while driving new efforts aligned with emerging regulations and industry needs. I would be honoured to contribute my expertise and energy to help the IoT WG continue its valuable mission. I look forward to the opportunity to support and serve the community.
