I read which it´s possible implementing a DNS Server which support ENUM with PowerDNS. Is it possible with Bind?
Yes. ENUM is a protocol for mapping E.164 telephone numbers into domain names under e164.arpa. It's does have an impact on the DNS protocol or its implementation. ENUM lookups generally return NAPTR records. These are supported in just about every modern DNS implementation. BIND is the reference DNS implementation so by definition it supports NAPTR records. :-)

Well it should not be too surprising. Though this list is generally oriented toward classic RFC 3761 using e164.arpa though most of us know that that the use of 3761 in private instantiations is doing very well indeed and multiple carriers are looking at various forms of DNS server implementations than can support ENUM. I curious as to what other open source implementations could support 3761 especially in large scale cached environments. Cheers .. The other IETF ENUM WG co-chair …until the IETF shuts it down. To answer your question about Unbound more accurately - yes, of course it supports NAPTR records. However Unbound is a recursive-only server. For authoritative serving its sister product "NSD" can be used. Ray
