For decentralization's sake, i make the suggestion to move one of the three main TLD's (.net, .com, .org) under Europa's management. This might distribute and improve legal stability of the DNS ecosystem. (And if this is not possible, that is indicative of a problem with DNS!)
I assume you are at least partially trolling, but no doubt there is an undercurrent of (understandable) community outrage that would like to imagine you were not.
I'm also assuming this concrete suggestion is trolling. However, whether the RIPE NCC should make a contingency plan to switch to using a DNS domain name which isn't quite as much at the whim of a capricious regime in the case the brown bits hits the proverbial fan would possibly be a good idea. Not cheap in terms of effort, mind you. One should possibly at least estimate what such an effort would entail, and for all I know, the idea has already come up. It's certainly not just the DNS, it's also certificates, and that's probably just the start of it. Regards, - Håvard
