Followup on today's meeting
Dear CoC TF, It was lovely to see and speak with you all earlier today. We agreed that we would all review, comment, and edit Document 1 in the working draft by the end of Friday next week, and then discuss on the list if we were in a position to publish it as a draft. During our discussion, Brian noted that there was a difference in style between the Expected and Unacceptable Behaviours sections. The first made good use of bullets and the second had longer paragraphs that were harder to parse. I have now broken those paragraphs into bullets and listed the bullets alphabetically, which I hope makes it clear that these are not in order of importance. This is visually a large change, so I wanted to call it out. I'd also like to call your attention to some open comments on parts of the Rationale section. Do we want to make changes to the text, or perhaps refer to external resources? We also agreed to work on a draft communication. I have started work on a draft, which attempts to remind people when we last communicated and what we are doing. It then goes on to say what we have worked on and there are two options for where we are now. Either, the draft has been published and comments are welcome, or stating that the draft will be published in January. Working draft: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zkYiQPkX6tq09tdpQdL_URbvfnILgwrqRn2zq2eB... Draft communication: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uatZQ_qSLrxpS9v-fnq5sIYp5Pne2aYzwFowhl1X... Kind regards, Leo
Leo, Thanks for this. For my money I think we can share a draft of document 1 next week, and give a generous amount of time (including a reminder in early Jan) for feedback. I think that would be great. However others had more comments on that document than I did, so I'll defer to them. Either way, I don't think anyone will get very angry at us whatever communication we send and we haven't committed to respond to or even include every comment, so the risk in general is low, Thanks, Brian Brian Nisbet Service Operations Manager HEAnet CLG, Ireland's National Education and Research Network 1st Floor, 5 George's Dock, IFSC, Dublin D01 X8N7, Ireland +35316609040 brian.nisbet@heanet.ie www.heanet.ie Registered in Ireland, No. 275301. Thanks for this. I'd like to ask the rest of the TF to either indicate areas of the text that need adjustment on this list or in a comment on the working draft. Many thanks, Leo
