Various reports posted here
Hi, currently, we have both the CIDR Report and APNIC's weekly routing table report being posted here on the routing-wg list. The CIDR report is also posted to the EOF list. Given that both reports are somewhat operational stuff, I think that both belong to the EOF list (as "equivalent" of NANOG, AFNOG etc.), but not too much to the routing-wg list. My suggestion would be to ask Geoff to cease posting to routing-wg (but keep eof-list) and ask APNIC to post to EOF-list instead. How do people feel about that? Does that make sense? I'm happy to do whatever is desired by this group - of course! Geoff At 04:25 AM 21/05/2005, Daniel Roesen wrote:

Good idea - certainly makes sense. Regards Denesh

It certainly does, and I second it. A strange thing I noticed though is that eof-list mailing list is apparently deprecated since 2002, and eof-wg is supposed to be used instead (as this is the name of the _archived_ mailing list). However, Geoff does send his report to eof-list and in spite of this it gets archived in the eof-wg list. Moreover, the mailing list information associated with the EOF mailing list says that one should send the e-mails to eof-list@ripe.net... Is there any reason to have the _name_ eof-wg list at all, or should this be renamed to eof-list? (I suspect there was a historical reason for using eof-wg, as EOF was thought to become a working group, but as far as I know, such a WG never existed in the last 10 years.) The change suggested by Daniel Roesen may be a good opportunity to deprecate eof-wg and switch back to eof-list. I would ask the same question: How do people feel about that? Does that make sense? I'm happy to send my report to the eof list instead. I asked back in 1999 if I could send it to the routing-wg, and folks generally said yes, but I'm happy to move it there if that's the consensus now... philip --
