Hi There, can you help, i have the range 217.196.0.0/20 (as20652) and announce it to cable and wireless and firstnet services (as15758) But when doing a traceroute into my network all 217.196 ip addresses have as15758's as number on them??? Even if i come in via cable and wireless or firstnet. now both transit providers did make an error and put a route object in for my network, which should have now been deleted. but im still getting firstnets as number on my range. This is very confusing and we can't locate the problem, everything seems ok in the ripe database now and as20652 (us) is the origin for the 217.196.0.0/20 network. can you help? Dear John, the reason is that firstnet as15758 are still announcing the network theirselves. Even though they might have deleted the route-object. Therefore the prefix is shown as an inconsistent-as: Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path * 217.196.0.0/20 212.4.206.49 0 8918 5378 20652 i *> 62.16.33.21 0 3549 8297 15758 i * 195.206.66.185 0 3300 7176 15758 i Let me know if stepping on firstnet's feet helps.
