RPKI workshop @ RIPE 62 monday morning
Monday morning at the RIPE 62 meeting, from 9:00 to 12:30, an RPKI workshop will be organized by Randy Bush, Sandy Murphy, and Michael Elkins. For time and place, see meeting plan http://ripe62.ripe.net/programme/meeting-plan. Short description of workshop: The RPKI is a system under development in the IETF that provides a secure method for network operators to attest to the network addresses they hold. Attendees at this workshop will have the opportunity to try out the existing open source implementation for producing RPKI certificates and ROAs with their own resources and experience resource requests, sub-allocations, ROA creation, etc. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experiment with use of RPKI data they have created on a real router and see the impact on routing of use of the RPKI. Attendees who want to participate fully should bring a laptop on which to run the software, either natively or in a virtual machine (OSX, BSD, Linux). No registration is required. thanks benno. it is really a RPKI-based Route Origin Validation Workshop
Attendees who want to participate fully should bring a laptop on which to run the software, either natively or in a virtual machine (OSX, BSD, Linux).
that is for those who wish to build and run their own certificate engines. those who just wish to use the gui, ncc's, arin's, the open source one, ... and play with routers do not need to build the software. a browser, for the gui, and an ssh client, to log in to routers, will do just fine. randy

Thanks for organising this Randy, it is much appreciated. Just a note for those of you who want to use the RIPE NCC Certification system to create their ROAs: If you don't have your Certificate and ROAs set up yet, all you will need for the workshop are the Administrator credentials for the LIR Portal to enable the service. You can also do it beforehand, just watch this short video for instructions: http://youtu.be/Q0C0kEYa1d8 -Alex
