that is for those who wish to build and run their own certificate engines. those who just wish to use the gui, ncc's, arin's, the open source one, ... and play with routers do not need to build the software. a browser, for the gui, and an ssh client, to log in to routers, will do just fine.

Just a note for those of you who want to use the RIPE NCC Certification system to create their ROAs: If you don't have your Certificate and ROAs set up yet, all you will need for the workshop are the Administrator credentials for the LIR Portal to enable the service.
