Hi all, At this point in time two candidates made themselves available to serve the community as Routing WG co-chair: Ben Cartwright-Cox and Alessandro Improta. I appreciate both candidates stepping forward. The following procedure will be used to select one candidate: step 1) The candidates are given 3 minutes of microphone time to introduce themselves to the working group and motivate their candidacy. step 2) After all statements have been heard, the working group is asked as many times as there are candidates to express support for the candidate through "IETF humming", or abstain through silence. step 3) The Routing WG co-chairs and RIPE community chairs delibrate together on their interpretation of the sound of the humming. step 4) If the humming appeared preferential to one of the candidates, the new co-chair has been found (procedure ends). If the humming could not be interpreted in a conclusive way, proceed to step 5. step 5) toss of a coin to overcome the tie-breaker (random selection) The procedure's objective is to gauge whether the working group has a clear preference for one or the other candidate, and if all candidates appear to be supported by the working group to make an arbitrary choice. The above procedure was agreed upon by Routing WG chairs & RIPE chairs. Execution of this process at the upcoming RIPE86 Routing WG meeting will serve as input into improving the description of the Routing WG chair selection document. Kind regards, Job outgoing co-chair Routing WG
