Dear colleagues, Please find this new article on RIPE Labs by Juan Brenes, one of the RACI fellows at RIPE 75: Power Prefixes Prioritisation for Smarter BGP Reconvergence Every day the Internet experiences failures that affect the reachability of certain zones (i.e prefixes), such as cities, countries, etc. Whenever such events happen, the routing information, which is the path that information must follow in order to get from one place to another, must be updated so that the failure is circumvented and the zone becomes reachable again. https://labs.ripe.net/Members/juan_brenes/power-prefixes-prioritisation-for… Juan will present this topic at the Routing WG session later this week. Dear wg participants, The routing wg, like all other RIPE working groups, adopted a chair selection process. Ours, which is available at https://www.ripe.net/participate/ripe/wg/routing/routing-wg-chair-selection… <https://www.ripe.net/participate/ripe/wg/routing/routing-wg-chair-selection…>, is as follows: The RIPE Routing Working Group should attempt to maintain two Chairpersons whenever possible. As a large part of the work of the Chairpersons is in creating an agenda for the Working Group meetings at RIPE meetings, these are generally appointed by consensus of those present at a Working Group meeting. Each of the Chairpersons may periodically offer to stand down to allow new candidates to stand in their place. The Chairperson that wishes to stand down should announce that to the Working Group’s mailing list two weeks before the meeting. Nominations for Chairpersons may be accepted up to the day before the Working Group’s meeting. So it is time for me to let other people step forward and volunteer to become routing wg co-chair. I have to say it has been great being working with my co-chairs along the years: Joachim Schmitz, Rob Evans and now Paolo Moroni. Let us know about your interest so we can include some time in the wg agenda at RIPE 75 to allow for introduction of the candidates (even if you are not physically attending this time around you can still volunteer) Regards, Joao Damas
