2025-02 Last Call for Comments (Revocation of Persistently Non-functional Delegated RPKI CAs)
by Angela Dall'Ara 10 Sep '25

10 Sep '25
Dear colleagues,
Proposal 2025-02, "Revocation of Persistently Non-functional Delegated
RPKI CAs" is now in Concluding Phase.
This proposal suggests providing a mandate to the RIPE NCC to revoke
resource certificates associated with longtime non-functional CAs to
reduce Relying Party workloads.
The WG co-chairs have declared that rough consensus has been reached and
the proposal will now move to Last Call.
As per the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP), the purpose of this
four-week Concluding Phase is to give an opportunity to present
well-justified objections for those who missed the previous two phases
and wish to oppose the proposal.
Any objection must be made before 9 October 2025 and must be supported
by an explanation.
If no substantive objections are raised by the end of Last Call, the
proposal will complete the PDP and will be evaluated by the WG co-chairs
for final consensus.
You can find the full proposal at:
https://www.ripe.net/community/policies/proposals/2025-02/
Please e-mail any final comments about this proposal to
routing-wg(a)ripe.net before 9 October 2025.
Kind regards,
Angela Dall'Ara
Policy Officer
RIPE NCC

2025-02 End of Review Phase (Revocation of Persistently Non-functional Delegated RPKI CAs)
by Sebastian Becker 10 Sep '25

10 Sep '25
Dear Routing WG,
The review phase for proposal 2025-02: "Revocation of Persistently Non-functional Delegated RPKI CAs" ended on 5 September. Thanks to everyone that participated in the discussion.
Ten people fully supported the proposal:
Max Emig
Theo Buehler
Ben Cartwright-Cox
Niels Raider
Filip Hruska
Gert Doering
Tobias Fiebig
Radu Anghel
Simon Leinen
Lukas Tribus
No objections were raised.
Additional comments:
Tim Bruijnzeels agreed with Theo Buehler's suggestion to clarify, in the wording of the first paragraph of the impact Analysis, that the period triggering a non-functional CA revocation would start from the nextUpdate timestamp expiry.
Job Snijder agreed with the RIPE NCC understanding of his proposal.
Based on the feedback received from the Working Group, we declare that rough consensus has been achieved for this proposal and ask RIPE NCC Policy Officer to follow up announcing the start of the Concluding Phase (Last call).
Kind regards,
Sebastian Becker, for the Routing WG Chairs
