Is there any chance for RIS publishing *FULL* riswhois dumps? [ I know about http://www.ris.ripe.net/dumps/ ]
I'm not sure what you mean with "FULL riswhois dumps",
riswhois produces record like the one given below. route: 219.149.0.0/17 origin: AS4134 descr: CHINANET-BACKBONE No.31,Jin-rong Street lastupd-frst: 2005-12-28 04:10Z 195.69.144.196@rrc03 lastupd-last: 2006-01-19 15:59Z 168.209.255.2@rrc00 seen-at: rrc00,rrc01,rrc03,rrc04,rrc05,rrc10,rrc11,rrc12,rrc13,rrc15 num-rispeers: 58 source: RISWHOIS Current dump files provide only the following subset of above fields: origin (without AS substring), route, num-rispeers 4134 219.149.0.0/17 58 I would like to get "seen-at" field
but all RIS raw data are available through http://www.ripe.net/projects/ris/rawdata.html RISwhois uses the latest full dumps from the route collectors to create a comprehensive view of the RIS routing information. If you need more information than you can obtain from RISwhois dumps, you should consider downloadng and processng RIS raw data yourself. That would give you full control, allow you to extract all information you'd need.
I have no BGP/zebra knowledge Could you (or somebody) provide links to description of the "raw data" file formats or recommend tools/perl modules for processing them? Are sources of program/scripts used to turn "raw data" in riswhois publicly available? P.S. I would like to get better coverage of IP->AS maps. Unanimous AS reports after purging default routes (*/0) deliver pretty good coverage *BUT* it fails e.g for hotmail ("inside" AS of MS) and for ASes "inside" china-telecom AS. whois -h riswhois.ripe.net -- 65.54.249.80 whois -h riswhois.ripe.net -- 219.149.84.10 I wanted to report all prefixes with the same num-rispeers and seen-at as the smallest prefix. -- [en: Andrew] Andrzej Adam Filip : anfi@priv.onet.pl : anfi@xl.wp.pl http://anfi.homeunix.net/ Netcraft Site Rank: 517577 All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing -- Edmund Burke (1729-1797)
