Hi Arife, Mae-West doesn't seem to be picking up in peers (4 - and according to Hong-Wei, no full feeds). It was some time ago since you tried to get their attention (nanog in miami?). After the good experiences at the NYIIX, shall we try LAIX? What do you think? BC thought that we should wait until the end of the year, but that requires giving gebert, bechly and pucik a little push (again). BTW, have you thought about cleaning up active bgp session or it that ops work? If they already have tools to monitor anycast and 3333 sessions then maybe the RIS could just plug into that. I think we should decide where we like to re-locate rrc08. Pushing those guys do not help, after two of my try, we lost peer rather than getting more peers. One of the reason is most of their members are already left. At that point, they can not do much about to help us. About new location, be honest I do not know which would be best. I guess we are looking new place at West again, right? What are the options? and number of their members and do we have any contact person any of those locations?

ISC (PAIX) offered assistance, route-views are already there though. Otherwise we have LAIIX (need to find transit though, f-root are there ;), not many members though, only a few IPv6. There is also Seattle (SIX,) and San Diego (SD-NAP, Caida). Seattle looks most promising... Any other ideas? Options: http://www.bgp4.as/internet-exchanges Cheers, Matthew

PAIX is probably now the largest exchange point on the U.S. West Coast: http://www.switchanddata.com/Solutions/PAIX/Customers/PaloAlto/ Our friends at Tiscali are there if we need transit ;-) James -- James Aldridge, Network Engineer, RIPE NCC Tel: +31 20 535 4421 Fax: +31 20 535 4445 GSM: +31 6 5247 6932

I think so too. Plus that Vixie has always been helpful with other requests for support from our side. Please bring up this topic in Monday's RIS meeting so we can decide.
