RIS meeting 5/7/2004 ==================== Present (for at least a fraction of the meeting): Matthew, Henk (Notes), James, Gerard, Vasco, Arife (chair), Ruud, Katie Absent: Shane, Bruce 0. New chair ------------ Henk introduced Arife as the new chairperson for this meeting. Arife took control of the meeting after this. 1. Minutes ----------- Henk voluntered as notetaker 2. Migration ------------ A lot of work has been done. RRC12 up and running, need a day of work from our side before peering requests can be accepted. Public announcement and request for peerings will be done on Wednesday. This closes the work item "migration to linux". Progress was made on the other integration work with OPS. It was not clear to Gerard (or anybody) if the item software sync was done. Action on Bruce to report status. Otherwise "Integration with OPS" work item is done. Procedures draft: After some discussion, an action on Bruce was put to check if the s/w and h/w maintenance procedures are in line with the draft operations document. If not, Bruce to provide text to update the draft. Ticketting: rispeering@ripe.net now in xrtt. ripops@ripe.net to follow this week after Arife has gone through the error messages. If you have not yet check if you can use xrtt, please do so. Some operational aspects were discussed: RRC04 and RRC06 need kernel patches (standard procedure). BGPd was updated, the problem with it crashing seems to have been solved at the expense of removing SNMP support. As we were not using the latter, this was not a great loss. 3. v6 version of CGI's ---------------------- Prefix query 90% done. Works for 1 day, not for more 1 day. THis will be added. James going through the other cgi's. Arife has not made much progress. Still hope to finish by Thu, Matthew to send announcement Fri. 4. myASn -------- WP4 finished by the end of the week, handover of software planned for the week of 12/7. Shane to appoint a second person from SED for this. All users have been transferred from the prototype. Matthew will announce that the prototype is going to disappear today, then shut it down on Friday. 5. Peering requests. -------------------- 12 pending, Vasco will do them. The question was raised if it'd make sense to integrate peerings@ripe.net (regular peerings with AS3333) and rispeerings@ripe.net. No decision was taken at this point. Gerard mentioned that he has a nagiop script to verify if peerings are up and running. This could replace the regular (3/year) RIS peering checks automatically. 6. AOB ------ 1. Have to find a start page for the RIS iii stuff. No clear consensus on where to put the wrapper page. 2. Need to introduce new RIS folks to Olaf, Alex, etc. some time. Mainly for their information. 7. Meeting closed @ 9:32 ------------------------ Actions Matthew 5/7 Announce that the myASn prototype will disappear. 7/7 Announce RRC12 9/7 Announce v6 version of CGI's.
