Hi,
So to correct this, I suggest:
1. rm -rf /ncc/maillists/archives/pub/myasntesting 2. mv /ncc/maillists/archives/pub/myastesting /ncc/maillists/archives/pub/myasntesting 3. restore the myasntesting list (all subscribers and settings)
Steps 1&2 seem to be contradicting:
1. throw away newest and active archive 2. copy old obsolete and inactive archive over the (now empty) current archives.
If you took 1 minute (or 30 seconds) to LOOK at these archives, you would see that myastesting has EVERYTHING from myastesting PLUS the stuff send to myasntesting myasntesting on the other hand ONLY has stuff send to myasntesting. so to preserve the history of the myas(n) testing list, one should keep myastesting. As I said, this is something that SHOULD have been done in the first place when the mailing list changed name.
Again, this messup has been corrected and for all I care the ticket is closed for being a poor request.
huh? the request seemed pretty clear to me. You can't expect users to know all the intricate details of the convoluted setup of mailing lists and their archives. -- Rene
