This came up when the announcement for rrc12 was put online. The text there assumes that one knows what the RIS is. Somebody then suggested to have a short 1 page intro to the RIS for people who get the announcement but haven't heard of the project.
While that makes some sense, I think we can safely assume that a lot of people who come to the RIS pages don't know what the project is - yet! ;) I'd rather have the main RIS page be a gentle introduction, with links to details. The new web page layout actually lends itself very nicely to this setup. Matthew, maybe you can stop by the SED room for a quick chat with Arife and me so we can co-ordinate revisions to the RIS pages? -- Shane Kerr RIPE NCC
