Hi Ops,
I need root access on halfweg, as RISwhois seems to have problems and until it's been transferred to SED (meaning there's someone there who understands the code and can debug, fix things), curing problems falls upon me.
wilhelm@halfweg:~$ sudo -s Password: wilhelm is not allowed to run sudo on halfweg. This incident will be reporte d. wilhelm@halfweg:~$
Indeed, sudo on RIS hosts was restricted to running /etc/rc.d/rc.apache by group sudo-sed. I have given people in group sudo-np full sudo on RIS Linux hosts weesp, diemen and halfweg. I think this needs to be removed after the problems are fixed, so I will keep the ticket open till then.
whois -h halfweg 193.0.0.0 % This is RIPE NCC's Routing Information Service % whois gateway to collected BGP Routing Tables % IPv4 or IPv6 address to origin prefix match % % For more information visit http://www.ripe.net/ris/riswhois.html
% No entries found
and yes, access statistics have shown RISwhois *is* used by the Internet community. It's not only a TTM/traceroute thingy.
