riswhois: did nagios report outdated info?

When this happened a few months ago, Gerard implemented rules in nagios that should check for outdated timestamps. Question: did nagios give you such a report in the last days ???? If not, please consider this a request to fix it. I will not restart riswhoisd until tomorrow this time, to give you a chance to test the nagios setup for the up-to-date check. ris-int: it's not clear why riswhoisd can't refresh; it used to work fine; probably it somehow cannot fork a new process that refreshes data while the main daemon continues listening. more debug code will have to be added to riswhois to be able to track this in future. For now the only remedy is a cold restart of the daemon. -- Rene

RIS announces new Beacon Prefix 195.80.238.0/24.

Dear All, We started to announce new Beacon Prefix 195.83.238.0/24 at LINX, SFINX, VIX, NSPIXP2, NYIIX behind AS12654. This Beacon prefix is requested from Hitesh Ballani <hitesh(a)ripe.net> to do research about Anycast servers behavior. Please adjust your filters to receive this additional prefix from RIS (AS12654) and pass it to your upstream provider. There is no real traffic towards this prefix. However, we configured a dummy interface on RRCs from this address range to allow Hitesh Ballani do also some measurement in addition to the reachability of Anycast servers. Hi guys, I carried RIS internal pages to new space under SED structure. URL, http://iii.ripe.net/sed/twiki/bin/view/Doc/RIS With Twiki it looks quite fancy :-) I have not removed them from NP iii pages. If you think new pages looks OK, I will update NP page, clean up RIS stuff from there.
