Hi All, I have spoken with Europol and they are in discussions with Interpol on the ‘Theme’ on the conference in September. Europol know that we as RIRs, are keen to have a talking slot if possible. Nothing will be decided for a few months on this. Carlos - The interaction with the regional Interpol offices is a bit hit and miss, and if am honest not that reliable as there they have high turn over of staff and their priorities change monthly ;-) How ever, they are a very important stakeholder and open many doors for us, so we should work hard to have a good relationship with them. Kimmo is no longer with Interpol, but Benoit Godart is still there. Ill email him and do an online introduction for you guys so he can make sure that have the right contact details on Interpol in our region. Cheers Dick PS - Leslie. The meeting in June at Europol is yet to be confirmed and is about CGN’s. PPS - who will be in PR? lets find time to get-together ;-) Richard Leaning External Relations RIPE NCC

Hi All-
Thanks Dick for opening the discussion on this list again. I agree that we need to be more active on this list and would love to see us share more information with each other with regards to our LEA engagement and collaboration.
I think it would be great if we could get on the agenda of the upcoming Interpol-Europol meeting in Singapore. I think a joint presentation about our LEA engagement, collaboration and support could be beneficial to this audience.
Regarding Carlos' question below about participation in the regional Interpol bureau meetings, I too would like to become more active in this area. I was invited to speak at one of the Interpol Americas events in Costa Rica a couple of years ago but had to cancel due to illness. I believe that Kimmo was the person who connected me with the Interpol Americas group. I know that Benoit (whose last name I forget) from the Interpol office in Singapore offered to connect Vymala with the regional Interpol office in Africa and me with the Interpol office in the Americas when we spoke with him at the Europol meeting this past summer. Dick, perhaps you could contact him to ask who we should all be coordinating with regionally? Or even do an e-introduction to him for all of us so that we can contact him directly. I have lost his business card, so I would really appreciate this!
Looking forward to hearing from all of you.
Best, Leslie

Hi Richard,
thanks for sharing!
One aspect I would like to explore is to have some presence in the regional meetings Interpol’s regional bureaus organize. We have already been to two of them but that it’s something I’d like to do on a regular basis.
I don’t know how to be “in the loop” for this, we usually get very late notices of these workshops.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
regards

Dear All,
I know we haven’t been using this mailing list much but i would like to change that. I think this year (2018), that we need more than ever to reconnect and speak to each other often.
Theres a lot happen in all our regions and i thinks its important that we keep each other up to date.
I have added Jaime Gillespie from APNIC, who is an Internet security specialist, so will be a valuable addition to this group.
So firstly please see the invitation to the Interpol/Europol conference in Singapore in September. Am reaching out to Europol to see if they would like us to present.
I think it would be beneficial if we had a monthly conference call, what do people think?
If there are members on this list that wish to be removed please let me know and if there are others that need to be added, then also let me know.
Cheers
Dick
