Dear All, below is the hostcount for December 2001. The table shows a decrease since last month of over 500,000 (or 3,5%) to a total of almost 15,650,000 hosts in the DNS in Europe and surrounding areas. The pt domain shows the highest increase for December with approximately 67,000 hosts more than in November. Background information and more statistics are available at http://www.ripe.net/hostcount/ - Brief Notes on this Hostcount - The large drop in the number of hosts counted for the past month is caused mainly by decreases in at, it and ru. A lot of zones in those domains were unfortunately not countable because of AXFR blocks, which seem to happen more often lately.
