IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT Additional background information for the forthcoming RIPE meeting, Prague January 25-27th, 1993 ----------------------------------- SIGHTSEEING TOUR AROUND PRAGUE Meeting place : Jose Marti Street 2, Prague 6 (near the KRYSTAL hotel) Date and time : 10 a.m. Sunday, January 24th, 1993. During the city tour you will see all the main sights of the "Golden Town", e.g. the St. Wenceslas Square, Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Town Square and many others. The sightseeing tour will last for about 2 hours and will end again near the hotel KRYSTAL. Tickets can be bought 30 minutes before the time of departure at the meeting point (tickets cost 150,- Kcs each - you will be able to get an official receipt). TAXI FARES

From January 1st, 1993 the taxi prices in Prague have been increased. The maximum fare per kilometre has been increased from 8 to 10 Kcs (all other taxi fees remain the same). The approximate cost of a taxi from the Airport to the RIPE Meeting venue (Dejvice, Technicka Street) is approximately 136 Kcs (distance of 13 km @ 10 Kcs = 130 Kcs plus a fixed charge of 6 Kcs).

MONEY EXCHANGE There is a bank at the airport where you can change money. Alternatively there are lots of money exchange offices around the town of Prague. Exchange rates approx: 1 US dollar = 28 Kcs 1 UK pound = 50 Kcs 1 DM = 18 Kcs 1 ECU = 35 Kcs SECURITY ROOM There will be a baggage store for people who have luggage etc that they need to store safely. FAXES, TELEPHONES and LOGIN sessions Whilst at the RIPE meeting you will be able to receive faxes on the following number: + 42 231 12463. (The fax is located in Jan Guntograds office in Zikova Street). Public telephones are located on either side of the entrance to No 2, Technicka Street - the venue of the RIPE meeting. A terminal room with approximately 20 terminals will be available for use by the attendees from 8 am until 9 pm each day. The terminals are in the Regional Computing Centre, 3rd floor, no 4 Zikova Street (which runs parallel to Technicka Street). There will be signposts. Attendees will be able to connect via Telnet sessions.
