Dear colleagues, The first day of RIPE 83 kicked off with 1,036 attendees registered for the meeting. Here are the highlights: - The meeting was opened by Mirjam Kühne, the RIPE Chair, who welcomed attendees to our fourth fully virtual RIPE Meeting. - Presentations throughout the plenary sessions were well attended with over 500 participating on Meetecho and more joining in via the RIPE 83 livestream and YouTube. - We wrapped up the first day with Time to Talk, an online social event where attendees could meet with key RIPE community members and the RIPE NCC Executive Board. You can nominate yourself or someone else by sending an email with a biography, statement of interest and photographs, to pc [at] ripe [dot] net. There are currently two seats up for election to the RIPE Programme Committee. The RIPE PC online voting system will open today at 16:00 (UTC+1) and close on Thursday, 25 November at 17:00 (UTC+1).
