It is aimed at those who are currently running national network services but who will, in the near future, be moving to new technologies to provide new applications, higher bandwidth and a more reliable service. The workshop will be practical and technology-oriented but will also provide some experience of network management and an exploration of the application-level issues which arise with the newer technology. The event will be a single-track workshop with possibly a limited number of parallel sessions. There will be classroom-style lectures complemented by hands-on technical sessions where appropriate and practicable.
