We are now well past the end of the call for consensus and I have seen only support for the proposal.

I conclude that we now have reached consensus.

A licencing agreement for reusing BCP10 text is in place.

The documents will now be published as RIPE documents, and we can start the process.

Based on our experience using the process and future IETF experience,
the community may revise the document after the first selection has been made.

The discussion has now come to an end. There has been no
comments to the latest version during the more than four weeks
since the discussion at the RIPE meeting.

It is time for me to call for consensus on

The Chair Selection Process
This phase will be for another four weeks to end on 4 August.

This consensus call is about the normative part of the document. As
indicated in the drafts itself some appendices still need to be written
and some other non-normative parts like the IETF copyright are still to
be completed.

The RIPE NCC board has a role in the process.
I raised this point at the last board meeting, and
the RIPE NCC Executive Board noted its willingness to
take on that role described in the process.

Once the RIPE Chair election procedure will be adopted by the
community, I expect that the RIPE NCC Executive Board will pass a
formal resolution to accept their role in the process.

I would like to draw your attention to the ongoing discussion on the ripe-chair-discuss list.

The proposals were discussed in the BOF last night and there were good support in the room for the latest version.

You can find the archives at:
The latest version of the two proposals are at

The Chair Selection Process

The RIPE Nominating Committee

When the discussion phase has completed I will initiate a last call on this list, before declaring consensus.
