Is NetNews coordination needed ?

Hi, SWITCH has recently got requests for News feeds from countries, where SWITCH has no ideal connectivity to. A full feed is today in the same order of magnitude than MBone traffic (100 .. 150 kbps steadily). But News is not coordinated well. Is the RIPE meeting a place, where such coordination could be done? Does it need a working group? Do News administrators normally visit RIPE meetings? At least a well working mailing list is needed. What do you think? SWITCH would be willing to invest some man power and travelling expenses to coordinate News better.
