Iperdome Comments on the White Paper ATLANTA, June 5 -- After years of debate, and months of deliberation, the U.S. Government today released their long awaited Policy Statement on the Management of Internet Names and Addresses. Iperdome would like to thank Ira Magaziner, the Department of Commerce, and the many members of the Inter-Agency Working Group who have worked so hard on this difficult issue. Iperdome believes that the White Paper is a vast improvement over the MoU, and that it validates and addresses many of the concerns expressed by those who have opposed the IAHC plan. At the same time, Iperdome has some serious concerns with the possible results/outcome of "The Transition" as outlined in the White Paper. Over the next couple of days, Iperdome will review the details of the White Paper, then Jay Fenello will present a summary of these concerns to Congress when he testifies before the House Committee on Commerce as described below: http://www.house.gov/commerce/schedule.htm Wednesday, June 10, 1998 10:30 a.m. in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building Subcommittee on Telecommunications, Trade, and Consumer Protection hearing on Electronic Commerce: The Future of the Domain Name System.
