you're fortunate that no-export solved it. Some people strip off all communities on ingress - including no-export. IOW, this is a signaling mechanism. You can raise a signal, but you shouldn't depend on other people seeing it or reacting to it. In real life, once a prefix passes outside your own network, all bets are off. I.e. networks should consider carefully whether or not to depend on signaling like this as a reliable mechanism for traffic control. Nick
