Geert Jan de Groot

      Dear all,

As some of you may have heard, today is Geert Jan de Groot's
last day at the RIPE NCC. Geert Jan joined the NCC staff at the start
of 1994. He has played a central role in the network design and
maintenance as well as the set up and support of a number of key
external services.

After distinguishing himself by making key contributions to the BSDI 
UNIX system in his spare time, he has taken a position as a system 
developer for Berkeley Software Design, Inc. 

We are grateful to Geert Jan for his years of dedicated service to the
RIPE community in his role at the NCC, and wish him success in his 
further career.
