This email is sent on behalf of the Number Resource Organization (NRO). The Address Supporting Organization Address Council's (ASO AC) call for nominations for Seat 9 on the ICANN Board will close at 23:59 UTC on Sunday, 17 December 2017. Nomination Process ------------------- Community members are invited to submit nominations by email to <nominations(a)aso.icann.org> by Sunday, 17 December 2017 at 23:59 UTC. Nominations must include the following information: - The full name of the person being nominated - Contact email address for the person being nominated - Contact telephone number (if available) of the person being nominated - The full name of the person making the nomination - Contact email address for the person making the nomination - Contact telephone number of the person making the nomination Election Procedures -------------------- Procedures for election of individuals to the ICANN Board of Directors by the ASO AC can be found at: https://aso.icann.org/documents/operational-documents/operating-procedures-… Regional Restrictions ---------------------- The ICANN Bylaws state "no two Directors selected by a Supporting Organization shall be citizens from the same country or of countries located in the same Geographic Region.” (see section 7.2:c). The current ASO AC selection for Seat 10, Akinori Maemura, resides in the APNIC region. Therefore, no nominations for Seat 9 will be accepted from candidates residing in the APNIC region. Eligibility Requirements ------------------------ All nominated candidates must meet the selection criteria and conflict of interest requirements as outlined in Article 7 of the ICANN Bylaws. The selected candidate will undergo an independent due diligence review by an ICANN contractor, and announcement of the candidate will follow once this review has been successfully completed. Proposals Open for Discussion: 2016-04, "IPv6 Sub-assignment Clarification" Proposals Awaiting Input: 2017-02, "Regular abuse-c Validation" Proposal Withdrawn: 2017-03, "Reducing Initial IPv4 Allocation, Aiming to Preserve a Minimum of IPv4 Space for Newcomers" Proposal Overview: PROPOSAL: 2016-04, "IPv6 Sub-assignment Clarification" OVERVIEW: The goal of this proposal is to re-define the term "sub-assignment" for IPv6. STATUS: Withdrawn. The proposers felt unable to create a second draft that addressed conflicting objections. Dear colleagues, The ENOG Programme Committee (PC) is getting ready to start working on the programme for the ENOG15 meeting, which will take place in Moscow, Russia 4-5 June 2017. The PC has already attracted a strong team of industry experts with diverse regional and international experience, and we are looking for new members to join us. What is expected from a PC member? ------------------------------- - To actively participate in forming the programme of the ENOG meeting. This implies active participation in the PC activities (teleconferences, on-site meetings, reviews, etc.) and working towards reaching consensus on decision points. - To actively seek content that is relevant and interesting to the ENOG community. This includes reaching out to presenters of interesting talks, people involved in projects, research or other activities that may be of interest to the community. - To stay aware of the topics that address the needs and interests of the ENOG community. This requires good knowledge of relevant regional and/or international issues and usually assumes attendance of ENOG meetings. - To actively publicize the meeting and its agenda to potential attendees, using both personal contacts and social networking. Review of the Address Supporting Organization (ASO)

Dear colleagues, The RIRs participate within ICANN through the Address Supporting Organization (ASO). A review of the ASO was carried out earlier this year by an independent consultancy. There were 483 people in attendance from 59 countries, including a sizeable jump in the number of first-time attendees (36%)! Notable highlights of the meeting week included the formation of a new Internet of Things Working Group and the very first "Women in Tech" lunch featuring presentations from women working in the Middle East region.
