On 7 December 2022, the RIPE Chair made the final call for comments with a deadline of 14 January 2023." RIPE NCC response to the proposed Cyber Resilience Act

Hello, I’d like to thank everyone who shared their thoughts and feedback with us about the potential impact of the Cyber Resilience Act. The RIPE NCC submitted its contribution to the European Commission’s open consultation on the act yesterday. It included the RIPE community response that was shared earlier on this list (and had been updated with some additional feedback that we received since), as well as the RIPE NCC’s view on how the act could impact our own operations and a number of areas in which we believe further clarity is needed: https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation/have-your-say/initiatives/1… <https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation/have-your-say/initiatives/1…> The consultation has now closed, but we’ll continue to keep the community informed about other legislative proposals we believe might be of interest and continue to encourage the RIPE community to make sure its voice is heard in these debates. Opportunity to respond to EU Cyber Resilience Act proposal

Dear colleagues, We’d like to draw your attention to a proposal put forth by the European Commission to strengthen cybersecurity rules for hardware and software products, called the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA): https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/library/cyber-resilience-act <https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/library/cyber-resilience-act> Several members of the Internet community have raised concerns over the implications of the CRA for the open-source community.
