Dear colleagues, RIPE 82 ended with a total of 1,188 attendees registered and 869 unique viewers on Meetecho for the all week and more joining via the livestream. Thank you all for making this virtual RIPE Meeting such a success! We were happy to see that we could bring the RIPE Meeting spirit online thanks to a high-quality programme with creative social events, fun quizzes, and the general enthusiasm and goodwill of the community. Dear colleagues and friends, With RIPE 82 closing this week - a third online meeting! - the  feelings about "what makes us a community" and maintaining mental and  physical health, in addition to keeping the Internet working, are still  very important, even if the end of the pandemic is in sight. In March, I wrote an article "You are Not Alone". In it, I mapped the OSI  Networking Model and Maslow's pyramid of needs. DBTF: BoF Feedback and Next Steps

Dear colleagues, Following our third BoF on 5 May 2021, the task force in collaboration with the RIPE Chair Team decided to postpone the publication of its final draft. As we received a lot of pertinent feedback during the BoF, we need more time to integrate it in our draft document before calling for consensus. We will meet again in June and plan to publish our next draft in the coming months. Dear colleagues, The first day of RIPE 82 kicked off with 1,093 attendees registered for the meeting. Here are the highlights: - The meeting was opened by Mirjam Kuhne, the RIPE Chair, who welcomed attendees for our third fully virtual RIPE Meeting. - Presentations throughout the plenary sessions were well attended with over 637 participating on Meetecho and more joining in via the RIPE 82 livestream and YouTube. - We wrapped up the first day with informal sessions to meet the new RIPE Chair Team, Mirjam Kuhne and Niall O'Reilly, and the RIPE NCC Executive Board.
