The ITCG will endorse qualified candidates for a one-year position on the MAG (renewable up to a maximum of three years), to be taken up at the invitation of the United Nations Secretary-General. > > The MAG advises the U.N. Secretary General on the programme and schedule of the Internet Governance Forum meetings. It comprises approximately 50 Members from governments, the private sector, civil society, and technical communities. MAG members are expected to attend two to three MAG meetings in Geneva, ‎Switzerland, in addition to the annual IGF meeting. They should participate actively in the ‎preparatory process throughout the year, through engagement in the online multilateral ‎dialogue among MAG members. Please note that candidates should be able to fund their travel to these events–some MAG members may be eligible to receive some funding support from the UN. RIPE 81 Call for Presentations

Call for Presentations *RIPE 81 will take place online between the 27th - 30th October 2020* The RIPE Programme Committee (PC) is now seeking content proposals from the RIPE community for the plenary sessions and lightning talks. We will be working with the NCC Meeting Team to facilitate BoF sessions, but due to the lack of physical constraints we do not envisage rejecting any BoF applications. There are no plans for workshops or tutorials as part of this meeting. More detail on the presentation formats can be found here: https://ripe81.ripe.net/submit-topic/presentation-formats/ Proposals for these sessions must be submitted for full consideration no later than August 30th 2020. Proposals submitted after this date will be considered depending on the slots still available in the programme. The PC is looking for presentations covering the topics of network engineering and operations, including but not limited to: - IPv6 deployment - Managing IPv4 scarcity - Data centre technologies - Network and DNS operations - Internet governance and regulatory practices - Network and routing security - Content delivery - Internet peering and mobile data exchange - Connected Things (aka. Internet of Things - IoT) ---- Submissions ---- Presenters should be clear on whether they wish to submit a presentation for a plenary or working group (WG) session. At present, most working groups will solicit policy proposals, discussion points or other content directly via their mailing lists. If you’re not sure what kind of session you should be presenting at, please visit: https://ripe81.ripe.net/submit-topic/plenary-or-wg/ RIPE Meeting attendees are quite sensitive to keeping presentations non-commercial, and product marketing talks are strongly discouraged. Repeated audience feedback shows that the most successful talks focus on operational experience, research results, or case studies. For example, presenters wishing to describe a commercial solution should focus on the underlying technology and should not attempt a product demonstration. Presenters should indicate how much time they will require. In general, the time allocated for the different presentation formats is as follows: - Plenary presentations: 20-25 minutes presentation with 5-10 minutes discussion - BoFs: approximately one hour - Lightning talks: 10 minutes in total for both the presentation and any discussion The following general requirements apply: - Proposals must be submitted using the meeting submission system, https://ripe81.ripe.net/submit-topic/submission-form/ - Lightning talks should also be submitted using the meeting submission system (https://ripe81.ripe.net/submit-topic/submission-form/) and can be submitted any time up to and including the meeting week. The allocation of lightning talks will be announced on short notice, in some cases on the same day but often one day prior to the time slot allocated. - Presenters who propose a panel or BoF are encouraged to include speakers from several (perhaps even competing) companies and/or a neutral facilitator. - All presentation proposals will only be considered by the PC if they contain at least draft presentation slides (slides may be updated later on). RIPE NCC to Publish NRO Extended Allocation and Assignment Reports

This message is sent on behalf of the Number Resource Organization (NRO). **** To make sure that the NRO Extended Allocation and Assignment Reports continue to be published to a high standard, the NRO has agreed that this should be managed by one of the RIRs. This will ensure a resilient and well-maintained service and will allow further improvements to be made in the future. The RIPE NCC has agreed to take over this responsibility. You can find the report on the RIR Statistics page on the NRO website: https://www.nro.net/statistics/ While the new file matches the format of the previous one, it will not apply data transformation to the reports that each RIR publishes individually. Improving the process

In addition, Mirjam needs to disengage from her responsibilities at the RIPE NCC. As I mentioned on Thursday, we expect these preparations to be completed during August. In the meantime, we shall continue to follow this discussion (no doubt, among others), most likely silently. For now, I just want to thank everybody who has contributed to the discussion so far.
