RIPE 87 Highlights and Thank You!

Dear colleagues, RIPE 87 ended with a total of 557 attendees checked in onsite in Rome and 463 unique participants on Meetecho across the meeting week, with more joining in via the livestream and YouTube.Thank you all for making this RIPE Meeting such a success! We were happy to see active participation at this meeting from both online and onsite participants. We would like to thank all the speakers, Working Group Chairs, the Programme Committee and sponsors for their contributions. It was also great to hear more about how we can make RIPE Meetings more accessible and inclusive at the Diversity and Inclusion session. Over the past week, we have had several plenary sessions and lightning talks, Working Group sessions followed by the Closing Plenary. Nomination Period for ICANN Board Seat 9 to Close on 15 December

Dear colleagues, This message is sent on behalf of the Number Resource Organization (NRO). ------------------------------- The announcement can also be viewed at: https://aso.icann.org/reminder-nomination-period-for-icann-board-seat-9-to-… ------------------------------- On 15 September 2023, the Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) published a call for nominations for Seat 9 of the ICANN Board of Directors. Nominations are being accepted until Friday, 15 December 2023 at 23:59 UTC. The selected candidate will serve for a three-year term, which will begin at the conclusion of the ICANN Annual General Assembly to be held during the ICANN 81 Meeting in November 2024. Please note that no nominations will be accepted from candidates residing in the RIPE NCC service region. The ICANN Bylaws state that no two directors selected by a Supporting Organization can reside in the same geographic region. The current ASO AC selection for Seat 10, Christian Kaufmann, resides in the RIPE NCC region. Therefore, nominations for Seat 9 will not be accepted from candidates residing in the RIPE NCC region. NRO NC November 2023 Election Result

Dear colleagues, An election to fill one seat on the NRO NC took place during RIPE 87 from 27 November - 1 December 2023. Constanze Bürger was elected to continue the three year term started by James Kennedy in January 2023 and ending in December 2025. Dear colleagues, We would like to share some information ahead of the upcoming NRO NC election taking place during RIPE 87. The election will fill one seat to continue the three year term started by James Kennedy in January 2023 and ending in December 2025. --------------- Nominees --------------- Hervé Clément has been appointed by the RIPE NCC Executive Board for a three year term from 2024-26. This means there are three nominees on the ballot: - Jordi Palet Martinez - Constanze Bürger - Andrea Cima You can view more information about nominees at: https://www.ripe.net/participate/internet-governance/internet-technical-com… --------------- Voting --------------- The following criteria are applicable in order to vote in the NRO NC election: - You must have registered for RIPE 87 and to vote in the NRO NC election - You must check-in ahead of the voting registration deadline - You must have attended at least one of the previous eight RIPE Meetings Please note that you must also check in (even if you are participating online) in order to receive an electronic ballot. RIPE NCC Survey 2023: Key Findings Published

Dear all, The RIPE NCC Survey was conducted in May and June this year and 3,899 people took the time to participate and let us know their views on how the RIPE NCC is performing and the direction it should be taking in the years ahead. We are extremely grateful to all those who took the time to give their input. Survey Matters analysed the data and published a detailed report with the findings from the survey. We examined these and we now propose a number of our own key findings and areas where we need to address the issues raised in the survey. A list of all 40 key findings is available here: https://www.ripe.net/participate/member-support/surveys/ripe-ncc-survey-202… The list provides areas for investigation and consideration, and we will add any outcomes or work carried out in those areas as we move forward. We will also periodically review the list and make adjustments if necessary. In 2024, we will update the webpage with relevant information in each area.
