[Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear Colleagues, The nomination period for appointment to the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council (NC) has now closed. This year, in accordance with the Number Resource Organization's Memorandum of Understanding (NRO MoU), the RIPE NCC Board of Executives will make the NRO NC appointment. The following candidates have accepted their nomination for the vacant seat on the NRO NC from the RIPE NCC service region: - Paolo Bellorini - Remco van Mook - Wilfried Woeber The term of Wilfried Woeber, which began on 1 January 2006, expires on 31 December 2008. The representative appointed by the RIPE NCC Executive Board for the NRO NC seat will serve a three-year term, beginning 1 January 2009. Formation of RIPE Cooperation Working Group

Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce the formation of the RIPE Cooperation Working Group. This working group is an important forum in which to discuss cooperation between the many stakeholders in the Internet community, including business, government, regulators and civil society. It follows on from the work of the Enhanced Cooperation Task Force, community discussions at the RIPE 56 Meeting in May 2008, and the recognition that a more open dialogue between all stakeholders is vital to ensuring the continued stability of the Internet. A draft charter for the working group can be found at: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/wg/cooperation/index.html This page also contains a link to subscribe to the Cooperation Working Group mailing list (cooperation-wg(a)ripe.net). As with all RIPE Working Groups, both the name and charter of the Cooperation Working Group are open for discussion, whether on the mailing list or at RIPE Meetings. Co-chairs for the Cooperation Working Group will be Martin Boyle, from the .uk registry Nominet, and Maria Häll, from the Government Offices of Sweden. We encourage everyone with an interest in multistakeholder cooperation to participate in this new working group, and we look forward to the working group making a valuable contribution to the RIPE community and its relationship with the broader Internet community. [Apologies for duplicate e-mails] Dear Colleagues, The period for nominating candidates from the RIPE NCC service region to fill one vacant seat on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number council (NC) is currently open. The term of Wilfried Woeber, who was appointed to the NRO NC by the RIPE NCC Executive Board in January 2006, ends on 31 December 2008. [Apologies for duplicates] Dear Colleagues, The RIPE NCC Database Group has now implemented the White Pages functionality discussed in the Database Working Group session at RIPE 56. For those not familiar with the discussions surrounding White Pages, please refer to the document outlining all the details of the implementation in the RIPE Database Document Library: http://www.ripe.net/db/docs.html This document also explains how to have yourself listed in the White Pages. We plan to re-start a clean-up project to remove unreferenced PERSON objects early in September. This will start to delete objects from the database late in September.
