This will allow us to implement new features on the mailing lists, such as a complex search functionality throughout the archives. The new servers are currently undergoing testing and will be put into production today -- 13 October, 2011. You do not need to take any action and all subscriptions and settings will be copied over to the new system. However, we would like to inform you that, after implementation, the mailing list archives will have a slightly different look and you will need to update any direct links to messages in the archives. Resource Certification/RPKI Workshop at RIPE 63

RIPE 63 attendees interested in Resource Certification/RPKI are encouraged to take part in a workshop on Monday, 31 October from 9:30-12:30 in the Park Congress 2+3 rooms. ===================== What you'll learn ===================== The workshop will focus on BGP Origin Validation, based on the Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI). You will learn how RPKI enables network operators to make more reliable routing decisions and how it protects against accidental mis-origination, the most common routing error we see today. Using various open-source tools from rpki.net and the RIPE NCC, you will be able to set up a resource certificate and create Route Origin Authorisation (ROA) objects, stating which Autonomous Systems are authorised to originate the prefixes you hold. After publishing your ROAs, you can validate them and configure routers to set routing preferences based on the RPKI status of your prefixes. This workshop will be a collaboration between Rob Austein, Randy Bush, Michael Elkins, Benno Overeinder (NLNet Labs), Jac Kloots (SURFnet), Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks and the RIPE NCC. ========================= Participation Details ========================= You do not need to register for this workshop. There are no prerequisites for using the rpki.net tools. In order to generate a certificate and configure ROAs on the RIPE NCC pilot server, you'll need to have an LIR Portal user account with access to the certification system or know the administrator credentials for your LIR Portal account. Reminder: NRO NC Call for Nominations - RIPE NCC Service Region

[Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear colleagues, This is a reminder that there is a call for nominations from the RIPE NCC service region to fill one vacant seat on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council (NC). The term of Wilfried Woeber, who was appointed to the NRO NC by the RIPE NCC Executive Board in October 2008, ends on 31 December 2011. The RIPE NCC Executive Board will select one representative from the nominees to serve a three-year term on the NRO NCC beginning 1 January 2012. The decision of the Executive Board will be announced at the RIPE 63 Meeting, which will be held in Vienna from 31 October-4 November 2011. The deadline for nominations is 5 October 2011. Any individual residing within the RIPE NCC service region is eligible for nomination, except Regional Internet Registry (RIR) staff members. Self-nominations are permitted. There is no limit on the amount of terms someone can serve on the NRO NC. All nominees may submit a written statement in support of their nomination for publication on the RIPE NCC website. Other individuals may express support for nominated individuals that will be published on the RIPE NCC website. IPAM software that integrates with RIPE

Hi, ripe-list :) I've been asked (by a telecoms company) to research the options related to managing IP blocks and integrating with RIPE. Part of this is to see if there is some existing software out there that can be put to use. So my question is: Does anyone know of any good existing solutions for IP Address Management that integrates with RIPE out of the box or that can easily be adapted to do so? The only IPAM solution I have found so far that states integration with "Internet Registries" is BT Diamond IP's IPControl. If someone has any experiences with that piece of software, I'd also love to hear about it. Regards, Roger Kind Kristiansen
