Dear colleagues, The first day of RIPE 82 kicked off with 1,093 attendees registered for the meeting. Here are the highlights: - The meeting was opened by Mirjam Kuhne, the RIPE Chair, who welcomed attendees for our third fully virtual RIPE Meeting. - Presentations throughout the plenary sessions were well attended with over 637 participating on Meetecho and more joining in via the RIPE 82 livestream and YouTube. - We wrapped up the first day with informal sessions to meet the new RIPE Chair Team, Mirjam Kuhne and Niall O'Reilly, and the RIPE NCC Executive Board. You can nominate yourself or someone else by sending an email with a biography, statement of interest and photographs, to pc [at] ripe [dot] net. There are currently two seats up for election to the RIPE Programme Committee. The RIPE PC online voting system will open today at 16:00 (UTC+2) and close on Thursday, 20th May, 17:00 (UTC+2). Questions to discuss at RIPE 82 Code of Conduct BoF

Dear RIPE community, I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to our recent discussion on the draft RIPE Code of Conduct (CoC). We are using the input to update the draft. We plan to publish an updated version by the end of June. The RIPE Chair will decide if there is a consensus on that version. At next week's BoF, to be chaired by Olaf Kolkman, we want to gather your input on the other two items in our charter. We want your input on three key questions: - What kind of team is needed? - How should we balance process and speed? - What kind of process will be required to update the CoC or its processes? RIPE Programme Commitee Elections - RIPE 82

Dear Friends and Colleagues, The RIPE Programme Committee is responsible for recruiting and selecting presentations for the RIPE Meeting Plenary sessions. As the term of two RIPE PC members end, we are looking for new members in Spring 2021 who will be elected by the RIPE community at RIPE 82. There are currently two seats up for election to the RIPE PC. Please send nominations, with a biography, statement of interest and photograph, to pc(a)ripe.net. The Charter of the RIPE Programme Committee ( https://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-pc-charter) provides more information about the composition and roles of the RIPE PC. Nominations for the RIPE 82 PC elections can be sent in from today until Tuesday May 18th, 15:30 CEST (UTC +2). We will announce the PC elections at the RIPE meeting opening sessions, but interested parties can nominate themselves from now. We will close candidate nominations on Tuesday at 15:30 CEST, and publish the biographies on the RIPE Meeting web site. The RIPE PC online voting system will be open from Tuesday May 18th, 16:00 CEST until Thursday May 20th, 17:00 CEST, for the community members to cast their votes. The total voting numbers may be public.
