Folks, as some of you are aware, the EU Commission have a consultation open finishing on Friday at 17:00 CET on the upcomming Digital Networks act, there are 2 of them there is a targeted consultation (long and complex) and a shorter one here https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation/have-your-say/initiatives/1… a number of SME Internet stakeholders and I intend to sign a letter to the Commission voicing concerns about impact of some of the proposed policies on competition, SMEs, Network Neutrality and Quality of Service, particularly interconnection regulation and the proposed dispute resolution mandate... We acknowledge the recent concerns expressed by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) regarding the integrity and transparency of the AFRINIC Board of Directors election. We note ICANN’s request for clarity on this matter, in alignment with the Internet Coordination Policy‑2 (ICP‑2) framework. We fully support ICANN’s efforts to bring transparency and accountability to the AFRINIC election process. Upholding trust in RIR governance is essential not only for AFRINIC’s community, but for the stability and cohesion of the global Internet number resource system. Each RIR is founded on the principles of neutrality, community‑developed policy, and member‑driven processes. The petition from the ALAC representative in the ECA seeks reconsideration of the ICANN Board Resolutions of 19 May 2025 published at: https://www.icann.org/en/board-activities-and-meetings/materials/approved-r…, specifically: 1. The continued deferral of the ICANN Fourth Accountability and Transparency Review (otherwise known as ATRT4) pending community dialogue (the third bullet of Resolved 2025.05.19.02) (“Challenged Decision #1”); 2. RIPE NomCom 2025 - the selection result

Dear RIPE Community, The deliberation period for RIPE NomCom is now over, and we have the result. We had a set of high-quality nominees, and it was a tough choice between all of them. The RIPE NomCom selected Mirjam Kühne as RIPE Chair and Anna Wilson as RIPE Vice Chair. The selection result was declared and confirmed by unanimous consensus from the NomCom members, voting and non-voting. We selected Mirjam because the input from the community clearly favoured her. She is very widely regarded as someone who listens carefully to everyone and who helps the community to find consensus and move forward. It was also noted on numerous occasions that the community members are happy with her work as RIPE Chair. We selected Anna because of the positive input we received about her track record with the community. Mirjam and Anna also convinced us in separate discussions that they would work well as a team and complement each other. We would like to thank all other nominees for being prepared to serve the community and volunteering for the positions. Not being selected does not mean anything negative; it's just that the RIPE NomCom and the RIPE Community felt that Mirjam and Anna would be a better fit. The RIPE NCC Executive Board adopted a resolution stating that the RIPE NomCom 2025 followed the proper procedure. The minutes of meeting EB#184 are already published.
