Dear All,
below is the hostcount for October 1998.
The table shows an increase since last month of approximately
190,000 (or 2,8 %) to a total of almost 7,650,000 hosts in the
DNS in Europe and surrounding areas.
The 'it' domain shows the highest increase for October with
approximately 43500 hosts more than in September.
- Brief Notes on this Hostcount -
As is sometimes the case, the high increase for 'it' can be put
down to a *decrease* the previous month. This highlights the fact
that the overall progression is more useful than the snapshot of
a single month.
Somewhat surprising is the large reduction for 'de'. The
'de' hostcounter tells me that a major reason for this was the
restructuring of the DNS of a company previously having around
30000 registered hosts.
