Over here in Europe, privacy concerns are valued quite a bit. So argueing with US standards for a european entity is just not going to give your arguments a good start. Personally, I do not need to know Mirjam's or Hans-Petter's salary - I can see that they are doing a good job, and that there are very few candidates that will do this job equally well. So I don't really care how much they make, and for what the RIPE membership costs us yearly, it does not make a significant difference. If I were interested, I could go and ask, as a paying member, and I'm sure I would receive an adequate answer. I wouldn't post it to Internet, though.
